Welcome to Talent Middle School! Whether you are a student, parent, or just an interested community member, I hope that our school's website can provide you with informative, up-to-date content to help keep you connected to the Home of the Bulldogs!
Here at TMS we offer 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students one of the best middle school experiences in the Rogue Valley. Our students come to us from the communities of Talent and Phoenix, as well as some neighborhoods in south Medford and some of the unincorporated areas of southern Jackson County.
Academically, we provide a full slate of core classes including all levels of math, language arts, science, health, social studies, and physical education. Additionally, we have many exciting and engaging elective classes including: band, choir, computers, art, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) which includes elements of designing and engineering, robotics, and aviation. We also have excellent support classes for students who need accelerated learning in the areas of special education in both resource room and self-contained environments. I'm also pleased to announce that this year marks the third year of our cutting edge school-within-a-school program, the School of Design and Innovation. Visit the SDI page
for more information about this program and the process for applying. Additionally, after school we offer some amazing enrichment courses such as Spanish, Robotics, Guitar, and Drama.
Athletically, our Bulldogs represent TMS on the fields and courts as members of the SOMSAC (Southern Oregon Middle School Athletic Conference). We provide opportunities for 7th and 8th graders to participate in: cross country, track, football, volleyball, basketball, and wrestling. Sixth grade students may only choose to participate in cross country, wrestling, and track. Please see our Athletics
page for more information.
TMS also offers students many choices in terms of during and after school activities and clubs which they can join. These include: Yearbook, Brain Bowl, Leadership, Lifers, Latino Club, Scavenger Hunt, and Penta Games. Please take a look at our Clubs & Activities
page for more details regarding each of these opportunities.
Here at TMS we have something for every student. Additionally, we have one of the most caring and hard working faculties in the area. TMS truly is a great place for a student to navigate the exciting and challenging world of middle school!
