On November 6, 2017, voters in Phoenix and Talent passed a $68 million bond to upgrade the district's buildings and facilities. Through strategic efforts to leverage grants and incentives in addition to interest earned on investments, PTS was able to turn that original commitment from voters into $84 million, which was used to transform the district from the ground up.
Where your money went
Seismic upgrades and strategic enhancements to the buildings' safety and security features were prioritized, but other additions such as new playground equipment and major upgrades to learning spaces at Talent Elementary were also completed
Technically a seismic upgrade, Talent Middle School's multi-faceted renovation project completed in the summer of 2024 provided gorgeous new gyms, more bathrooms, fresh paint and very necessary roof and seismic overhauls with solar coming soon.
Featuring more than 150,000 square feet worth of new construction and renovations, bond dollars transformed Phoenix High School into the crown jewel of the Phoenix-Talent School District and one of the most beautiful school buildings in Oregon.
Our Commitment
The bond proposal that PTS voters passed targeted safety and security upgrades, energy efficiency and facility upgrades to accommodate CTE, FFA and the arts, among other programs
