A scholar and advocate, America Silva transformed her academic drive into a career serving Southern Oregon as a key staffer for U.S. Senator Ron Wyden

Beyond PTS
America Silva began her academic journey at St. Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she entered with sophomore standing thanks to her AP coursework at Phoenix High School. She pursued a triple major in Political Science, French, and International Studies. In 2016, she earned a master's degree in Nonproliferation and Terrorism Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California. After exploring careers in substitute teaching and translation work for the U.S. Department of Justice, Silva joined the staff of U.S. Senator Ron Wyden in 2021. She currently serves as his immigration caseworker and field representative for Southern Oregon.
