Beyond PTS

Patrick Johnson served as Student Body President during his time at Phoenix High School then used that same ambition after leaving the Rogue Valley to build an impressive legal career. He worked as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the Spokane County Prosecutor's Office from 1998 to 2018 before being elected as Spokane County District Court Judge in 2018. He was re-elected in 2022 and currently serves as the Presiding Judge.

Judge Johnson also served in the military as a Deputy Regional Trial Defense Counsel in the Army Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG), retiring as a Major in 2020. Since 2021, he has been sharing his legal expertise as an Adjunct Professor at Gonzaga University School of Law.

Beyond his legal career, Patrick is an author who has written three books in his Preston Sterling series under the pseudonym Trent Parkle. He is married with two surviving children, having lost one child who was serving in the Navy in 2022.
