The Phoenix-Talent School District is excited to invite families to our first-ever Literacy Luau, a fun and engaging community event celebrating reading and writing for students of all ages, Pre-K through 12.

Join us on Wednesday, April 22 from 5:30–7:00 PM at Phoenix High School for an evening designed to bring families together around literacy, learning, and fun.

Each of our schools will be represented, creating a lively, luau-themed atmosphere filled with activities, carnival-style games, and opportunities to connect. This is a great chance to see the creativity and collaboration happening across our district while enjoying a memorable night as a community.

Event highlights include:

  • Literacy-based carnival games and activities hosted by every school
  • A free book for every participating student, provided by the Scholastic Book Fair
  • Pizza dinner available for families, provided by the fabulous Phoenix Figaro’s
  • Two grand prize raffle baskets (elementary and secondary), featuring items to create a cozy reading space at home, including an iPad
  • A possible appearance by our super-cute baby goats and other animals from our agricultural program
  • A friendly attendance competition, with winning classrooms earning a luau-themed pizza party
  • A festive booth contest, judged by our media specialists, celebrating creativity across schools

Whether your student is just beginning their reading journey or preparing for graduation, there will be something for everyone to enjoy. We encourage all families to attend, participate, and celebrate the joy of reading together.

See you at the beach on April 22, PTS!
