Pirate Country Parade set for October 2

Students wave during parade

Annual parade through Phoenix brings PTS community together during homecoming week

The 8th annual Pirate Country Parade, the community event celebrating Phoenix High School's homecoming week, will be held Wednesday, October 2, beginning at 5:15 p.m. If you are part of a business or organization that calls Phoenix or Talent home, please consider taking part in this spectacular celebration. If you're not going to be in the parade, come watch and cheer on the homecoming court and other PTS and community representatives.
Please see below for details:

  • WHAT: In its 8th year, Pirate Country Parade is a short, sweet parade that gives the PTS community a chance to come together and celebrate Phoenix High School during homecoming week.
  • WHEN: Wednesday, October 2 – rain or shine.
  • WHERE: The parade loop (click here to see the parade map) begins near the corner of N. Rose Street and W. 1st Street, turns left down W. 1st Street, left down N. Main St., left on 5th Street, right on N. Church Street, then left on W. Bolz Road and back to Phoenix High School.
  • AFTER: The party will continue at Phoenix High, where the community is invited to head into the school to watch the He-Man Volleyball match and later to Jack Woodward Stadium to watch the Powderpuff Football game.
  • HISTORY: The Pirate Country Parade was launched by PHS alum and special education teacher Breeze Chapman in 2015. There was a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021, which is why this is the 8th-annual PCP instead of the ninth.
  • TO PARTICIPATE: Those who would like to be a part of this community event must fill out a PCP entry form. Click here to get started.
  • CONTACT: For more information, please contact PHS principal Kalin Cross at kalin.cross@phoenix.k12.or.us
