November 27, 2024

PHOENIX – The Phoenix-Talent School District delivered Thanksgiving food bags to 25 families, distributed $400 in gift cards and re-stocked the canned food shelves in its resource center through the Community Care program's annual Thanksgiving food drive.

Community Care specialists Katie McCormick and Nuvia Pineda finished up the last food bag deliveries to PTS families a few days before Thanksgiving. According to McCormick, the local donation drive will feed 113 people while also yielding hundreds of canned goods.

Two local donors also contributed $400 worth of gift cards, which were given out to families in need to purchase a turkey or ham.

Those interested in donating to the PTS Community Care resource center should contact executive assistant of equity and community care Monique Strain at monique.strain@phoenix.k12.or.us.
