Fifty new, 65-inch display panels set up in elementary classrooms
Welcome to a new school year! We’re looking forward to developing a good relationship with all Orchard Hill parents and students. Below we’ve provided some important information about school rules. Please take time to read through them and let us know if you have any questions.
M-Tu-Th-Fr 7:50—2:20 p.m.
Wednesday Only 7:50—1:20 p.m.
Students may NOT be dropped off at the school any earlier than 7:35 a.m. and are considered tardy at 7:50 a.m.
All meals for all students are FREE. We provide an opportunity for students to eat breakfast before school begins as well as lunch. Menus will be sent home at the beginning of the month or are also available on our district website.
Every student at Orchard Hill has a plan for their afterschool transportation. We call this an Afterschool Itinerary. Any time there’s a temporary change to a student’s regular itinerary (for example a student is going to be picked up rather than riding the bus) it is required that the parent send a note or call the school office prior to 1:00 PM.
Regular school attendance is critical to academic achievement and is a habit and pattern that is established in elementary school. Parents are required to call on the morning of the student’s absence which will help school officials with attendance reporting and save parents from receiving a phone call regarding the child’s absence. Students are considered tardy at 7:50 a.m.
A medication form, available in the school office, must be filled out prior to medication being distributed by the school. Do NOT send medication with your student in their backpack with a note. State law mandates that schools cannot distribute any medication, over the counter or prescription, without a medication form signed by the parent.
All volunteers are required to fill out a background check form and submit ID for verification which includes driver’s license, along with vaccination card OR vaccination exemption. All paperwork should be turned into the office at least 2 weeks prior to the trip. All of the above steps must be completed before any volunteering is done for the school. Volunteer applications are good for two years.
