Jackson County SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) would like you to have information about our weekly support group for teens affected by sexual violence.
Please feel free to contact us at the email below if you have any questions about the group, or about our resources for teen survivors.
Currently the group is meeting via zoom on Tuesdays at 5 pm, but this is subject to change to accommodate attendees’ schedules so please call or text the contact # and we will provide specific meeting time and log-in information.
The teen support group is run by a non-mandatory reporter who is a confidential advocate; participation in the group will not trigger any kind of notification to parents, law enforcement or social service agencies and is strictly confidential
Attendees are free to participate at whatever their level of comfort, and are not asked to share until/unless they are ready
There is an emphasis on peer support, facilitated by a staff member, and there may also be presentations about related information such as effects of trauma, coping tools, information about resources available, and topics the youth identify as important to them
Youth of all genders are welcome
The group serves youth ages 14 to 19
The group is currently held on zoom one day a week in the early evening – information about dates and time are provided when the youth contacts the phone number by text or call, or the email
One-on-one confidential support outside of group can be arranged once the teen is connected to the group facilitator
Additional resources can be accessed through connection to the support group
Specific information about the group and the intake process is available by contacting us at our confidential phone or email: (541) 625-8089 or firstname.lastname@example.org
