Pirate Country Parade returns
WHAT: Pirate Country Parade.
THEME: Pirates Rising.
WHEN: Wednesday, Oct. 12, 5:30 PM.
WHERE: Downtown Phoenix.
ROUTE: Floats line up on Rose Street. The parade starts on the corner of Rose and 1st. They'll then turn left on 1st street and left onto Main Street (yes, they go the wrong way). Bleachers will be set up next to the Civic Center downtown along with an announcer and judges. Then they'll turn left on 6th street, right on North Church St., and finally left on Bolz and back up to the high school.
GRAND MARSHAL(S): Every fire department that comes will be included as Grand Marshal.
FIRE DEPARTMENTS PARTICIPATING: Parade organizers have received confirmations from Jackson County Fire Dist. 5 (Phoenix/Talent), Jackson County Fire Dist. 3, Ashland Fire and Rescue, Medford Fire, Jacksonville Fire, and the Oregon Department of Forestry.
BEST VIEW: On Main Street, near the announcer.
TIME ESTIMATE: Approximately 45 minutes.
AFTER: It ends at the high school, where PHS will be celebrating homecoming with He-Man Volleyball and Powderpuff Football (class competitions).
HISTORY: Inaugural Pirate Country Parade was in 2015. Since the parade was canceled in 2020 and 2021, this is the 6th PIrate Country Parade.
