PTS accepting donations for Thanksgiving food baskets

Office staffers from Phoenix Elementary, Talent Elementary, Orchard Hill Elementary, Talent Middle School and Phoenix High School are in the process of identifying 10 families from each school to be the recipients of Thanksgiving food baskets.

Once the recipients are chosen, Phoenix High students will work with the district’s three Community Care specialists to collect donated items, make food baskets and deliver them to the families on Nov. 21-22.

Those who would like to make a donation may drop off the following items at any of the district’s three elementary schools: canned gravy, canned corn, stuffing, cranberry sauce, cornbread mix, boxed dessert, white rice, boxed rice, canned yams, canned vegetables, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and grocery gift cards for turkeys.

Please bring donations no later than Nov. 17.
