August 29, 2023
PHOENIX – Phoenix High School’s new 1,050-square foot fitness playground is ready for use just in time for the start of the 2023-24 school year.
Paid for with ESSER 2 funds, the $111,000 project was completed on Saturday, August 26, about five weeks after the equipment that was ordered in March arrived in mid-July. It's situated next to Phoenix High's Jack Woodward Stadium in the southwest corner of the complex.
The Thrive 450 playground was designed and installed by Gametime and includes equipment for eight exercises, including variable monkey bars, a decline sit-up station, a ball slam station, a variable press and a wheelchair-accessible merry-go-round.
Thrive stations are constructed of steel and synthetic materials and assembled with tamper-proof hardware for maximum durability.
